Newsletter: The Irresistible Offer Trap

The Copied Offer Crisis

Hey Reader,

A few months ago, a small business owner hopped on a call with me, visibly frustrated. Six months earlier, they had paid a premium scaling coach to help them build what the internet calls an "irresistible offer."

They rewrote their copy, added a bunch of high-value bonuses, launched a bold guarantee, and dialed in their sales scripts.

At first, it worked like a charm. Sales spiked, cash flowed in, and they thought they had cracked the code to permanent growth.

But by month five, the momentum flatlined. Even worse, their cost to acquire a customer was skyrocketing.

The founder came to me looking for a typical front-end fix wanting to know if their marketing needing to be fixed, did they need more bonuses?

They were ready to enter an exhausting, never-ending loop of tweaking words, slashing prices, and adding more deliverables just to keep people interested. They thought they had a marketing messaging problem.

But when we looked under the hood of their actual business setup, a completely different reality stared back at us.

The Public Blueprint

They didn't have a marketing or messaging problem. They had a Defensive Moat problem.

Because they had built their entire scaling strategy on a public-facing offer, written out cleanly on a public landing page, their business advantage was completely exposed. Within 90 days, three hungry competitors had copied their exact messaging, duplicated their bonuses, and undercut their pricing structure.

The reality of modern business is brutal: Slogans, copy, and offers can be copied by anyone over a single weekend.

If your entire business survival relies on a clever sales pitch or a shiny front-end bundle, you are building your house on quicksand. The moment the market gets crowded, your "irresistible offer" becomes a commoditized shouting match. You are forced to work twice as hard just to keep your existing sales numbers flat.

The Law of the Integrated Moat

This reveals a massive flaw in standard transactional playbooks: A quick transaction is won on the front end, but a sustainable business is defended on the back end.

  • What it is: Most business owners assume scaling is a game of continuous marketing hype. True strategic leverage means understanding that your business needs a moat, not just a promotion. You create an unbeatable advantage when your public offer is inextricably linked to your internal operations, unique data loops, or specialized delivery systems.
  • Why it matters: If your only edge is a low price or a fancy bonus stack, you are always one copycat away from a flat month. When you integrate your offer with an elite backend architecture, you create a complex system that competitors cannot reverse-engineer, giving you long-term market dominance and predictable profit margins.
  • How to do it: Look at your business objectively today. If a competitor copied your exact landing page and sales pitch tomorrow morning, do they instantly steal your market share? If the answer is yes, stop tweaking your ad copy. Look upstream. Identify the unique ways you or your team handles operations or delivers customer experiences. Turn those internal mechanics into the structural foundation of your business. That is your true constraint.

Inside the Studio - Real Results

The last few weeks I have been building case studies as each new client has gone through one of my new scaling programs.

My goal is to get one complete this week where I ended up increasing revenue by 40% in an e-commerce brand by having them shift their focus, do LESS, and get greater traction. The goal was to get them to 1 Million in sales from 500K and they will reach 1.5M by year end. I have an initial case study up when I just started working with them which needs to be updated, right now it only shows "expected results." Not actuals (I will email that out as soon as it is done)

I do have one "case study" up on my Scale Clarity Session page but it is not complete. . .

That is one individual part of a large leadership coaching company where I am working with all 7 of their coaches AND running their lead generation system and marketing. Each coach has received individual strategy and "activations" to get more business. The one there now highlights only one coach who is working part time and how I helped her to get more leads. We have revenue goals for the next few months so I don't know yet what that will be, once I do I will finalize that case study.

The final one I will be working on getting up is a service business/trainer who wanted a plan to retire, work from home and increase revenue by 100K a year. I have completed her plan and we have a solid plan that will get her to 60K more in sales in the next 3 months.

What my scaling programs have done for everyone to date

So far with each client I have worked with, I have helped them reach their individual specific goals of increasing revenue, helped them gain clarity on how to reach that goal, given them what they need to go execute on their own for the next 90 days and succeed. I am also able to address any risks that would keep them from reaching their goal so we can address them head on.

I want to state that there has not been anyone I have worked with so far that has been disappointed.

When I used to do "marketing plans" for clients often it would be overwhelming or we would execute what they thought they needed and it end up not getting the results they wanted. This is common because "marketing" feels easy. But it's only easy if the problem is just needing more eyes. It becomes frustrating when you don't just need more marketing. Now we address the roadblock as part of the plan.

By harnessing the 10 Types of Innovation algorithm I have been able to lead each client to their easiest and fastest path to more revenue. I also love that when I asked Google is the 10 Types of Innovation the fastest path for small business to make money it said yes. Using a framework that is backed by 30 years of data is far better than tactics.

BOTTOM LINE: If you are tired of spinning your wheels to reach your revenue goals start with a Scale Clarity Session. I customize them depending on your desired outcome.
